Yankees pictures
sports fans in New York (Met fans especially), are you sick of the "Yankee Bias?"?
I swear, every day that I have picked up the New York Daily news, there is always a Yankee picture in the back! I can understand a big story such as landing Roger Clemens or if the Yankees win a big game. However, when they lose....it still makes back cover!
There happens to be another baseball team in New York...the Mets, and they have been doing EXCELLENT! First place, great offense and defense but you are lucky to see a small BLIP about them in the back page of the Daily News....if at ALL! This is now getting out of hand! And to be fair, I won't single out the Daily News....the New York post has done its share of "Yankee Bias". I would THINK the papers would be fair here and perhaps COVER a Mets win??
Does anyone else here feel as I do, that this "Yankee bias" is getting out of hand?
if you consider that they are New Yorks own...and that to say Yankees is to say baseball history, that the Yankees have played for and won far more titles than any other team in history (more than many put together...more than any team ever will)...then you begin to understand the NY press' fascination with them (the idea that 'someone' in the reading public has an interest in seeing them succeed or fail)...I myself can take or leave them, with their 'buying a title' strategies...
